Time to start planting!

Happy Sunday Reader’s!

Spring seems to have sprung here in the ATL. The temperature hit the 70’s yesterday so it made it a perfect day to do some planting. I have been using my old k-cups to start seeds in. They are the perfect size and there is a little hole in the bottom for draining water. I am also using the used grounds and crushed up egg shells to mix in with my soil. Have you started planting your garden? What are your favorite veggies?

A few weekends ago I planted spinach and arugula seeds in a big pot. Can’t wait till they all grow in and I can start harvesting for salads and The Girls.

The Girls are also enjoying the warm weather. They have been making dirt baths and scratching up a storm. I wonder if they have any idea that soon there will be two new hens in the coop.

On Friday night we went out to one of our favorite places, Empire State South, for dinner. The weather was so nice that we sat outside before dinner for a drink. Our meal was wonderful as usual.

  2. Love the daffodils a round the chicken coop, looks like spring has come to Atlanta. Dad got really sick with coughing and I was afraid he couldn’t get his breathe, scared me. I had to call the doctor and get some medicine which helped. Last might I to had the privilege of getting this junk. We were not out side this weekend, oh well the warm weather will be around for a long time. Have a good week.

  3. any gardening I do is in containers. doesn’t always work so well, but I do like to have fresh herbs.. I noticed today coming in that the daffs here at the office are shooting up…considering they were still covered in snow early last week… I envy you the warm weather…still very cold here although should be 50ish Friday. At least I won’t freeze my face off when I head out to the Ark for Willie Nile When do we see a picture of your new hair? Is it the same color as your real hair? Did it come in curly? Inquiring minds want to know :)
