1 Tumor, 2 Tumor, 3 Tumor, 4…5 Tumor…Really 5 is enough.

Well F@cK.

Little F*ckers

Little F*ckers

Reader’s, how are you? Me not so hot. I am pissed and I am sad. CT scans did not go as we all had hoped and prayed they would. The little shits did not stop growing. No, they each grew a bit. What does not mean? It means I no longer will be taking the $8,500.00 a month pills and my hair will stop growing in white. I have moved onto regular chemo! Woot! Lucky me! :| The five tumors, one big, four small, are on the outside of my lung. Kinda different but hey, I have always been told I am beat to a different drummer! The big one is the reason for the pain under my right boob, not nerve damage. My lungs look in good shape and my blood work came back good so yeah for that.

Next Thursday I will go into the infusion center and get an hours worth of Doxorybicin Liposmal. Good things about it is that it is only one dose every three weeks. I should not lose my hair.  Side effects, are that I may get really hot hands and feet (what is that all about?) and it might make me look tanner. For those who don’t know, I am pale as paste and proud of it but a little tan may not be a bad thing. Of course there is getting tired and nauseous. Hopefully I will not gain the weight I have lose. He thinks since I did so well with the other chemo last year (which is the strongest he gives) that I should not have any huge issues with this one.  I will have two infusions before another CT scan to check out how it is working. I just want them to stop growing. I can handle the pain under my boob. I have been in some sort of pain since I was 13 years old. I can deal with it. What I can’t deal with is what it is doing to My Man, The Boy and the rest of my family. It isn’t fair to them.

So what can I say. Well, I did say Fu@k in front of Dr. Read. I don’t think he minded. Oh! To add salt to the wound, yesterday morning I fell walking down my wet steps outside. Jacked my left knee up so bad. I am walking with my granddad old cane. Hurts so bad. I really need a drink and to call this day done.

Be careful out there Reader’s.

Day 2-Quebec City, Quebec

IMG_4273

I woke up around 7:30am and read a bit in bed while My Man snored. I ended up waking The Boy up when I faced timed him. Guess where he slept last night. My bed! I recognized the ceiling and fan! That little bugger. We got up and going around and hour later and walked to a cafe for coffee and a chocolate croissant. We sat facing open floor to ceiling widows that looked onto the farmers market and a beautiful day.

IMG_4274

After we ate and got a cup of coffee to go, we walked over to the farmers market it check it out. They had a bit of everything. Some wonderful looking cheese, bread and veggies.

IMG_4275

My Man and I talked about going back and getting a little bit of cheese, bread and tomatoes for a nice snack latter. And then we came across the beer. My Man just stood there looking at all of it. “I have never seen any of these beers in my life”. There was drool.

We then went back to the condo and My Man went out for a run. Did I mention that we are on the fourth floor and there is no elevator? Oh my legs and ass! I am getting a good workout just by climbing them! I got cleaned up and sat down on my iPad to write rough drafts of these posts. Please forgive any tense issues I may have since I am writing it while we are here but won’t post till we get back. Got to add the pictures in at home.

Shopping

More shopping today. I was able to get two more cardigans, my favorite, two light sweaters that will be great for Our Florida trip in July and a cami. My man got some pants for dinner tonight and a new swimsuit. We also picked up a t-shirt for The Boy. I think I am all set (clothes wise) unless I see something I must have. I am still wanting to go to this one shop where they sell French dinnerware with cats on it. We got some lat year and I am planning on buying more this trip. It is so nice.

Lunch

IMG_4281

We had lunch at . Everything was local and the meats/fish/poultry was organically raised. My kind of place! My Man and I shared a cheese plate and then I had a salad with beat marinated trout and organize egg yolks. It was all so good.

IMG_4285

After lunch we did a little more walking around and then stopped at a cafe, had a glass of wine and people watched. A wonderful time!

IMG_4287

After awhile we went back to the condo and got caught up on social media. Our wifi access sucked. There was only one place in the whole condo you could get it and it was very hit and miss. We did some laundry and read a bit. It was much warmer out and the rain pretty much stayed away. We were able to find an adult contemporary French music station on the TV. It was very peaceful to listen to the music with the windows open and read. Just the kind of rest I needed.

Dinner

IMG_4289 IMG_4290 IMG_4291 IMG_4294

We ate dinner at Patriarche. We had eaten than last year and really enjoyed our time so we thought we would try it again. Like last year, it did not disappoint.

IMG_4295

PS. Today, the 12th, I am going to get my CT scans. If you are into praying please send them you way. If you are into good vibes and or finger and toes crossing please do those too! We are looking for NO Change. NO Change! No Change!

Day 1- Quebec City, Quebec

Reader’s!

Friday started early for me and My Man. A littler earlier for me since I woke up at 2am to My Man snoring and wasn’t able to fall back asleep! The alarm went off at 3:15am while I was reading the news and I got up ready for our journey to Quebec City to begin.

Our trip to Quebec went pretty well. Our flight left at 5:55am ( 5 minutes early! Go Air Canada!). We made it to our condo around 12pm and were able to check in right away.

The Condo

IMG_4250 IMG_4251

IMG_4279

The condo is very nice and very small. They said it was a two bedroom and they are lying. There isn’t really a “bedroom” at all. Instead there is a loft with a queen sized bed and a little office area with a Murphy bed. We had asked three different couples if they had wanted to join us and although I would have loved for one of them to say yes, I am glad they didn’t! The place would be great for a single person to live in. It however worked out perfect for My Man and I.

Lunch

IMG_4256 IMG_4257

After we got settled we headed out to grab some lunch. The area we were in was perfect. We looked at five different places and settle on Cafe Resto Saint Malo. I had salmon tartar and a warm goat cheese salad and some wine. My Man had the rabbit. We were able to sit outside and watch the people and the rain, sun, rain and sun. It did that the whole day. I am sure if I were looking there were tons of rainbows throughout out the day.

Shopping

IMG_4262 IMG_4263

Last year I ended up buying My Man a beautiful leather jacket. So after lunch we headed to our favorite leather store and he bought me one for my birthday! I love it! It is gorgeous!
I was also able to exchange my wallet, which had issues with the stitching, for a new and different style. I must admit, I like the new on better than the first! Sweet! My Man also bought three new shirts and a light sweater. He barely packed anything with the sole intent of buying new clothes on this trip. He really needs some new stuff. I saw some stuff that I liked and planned on going back to try it all on later. To rainy for me to try clothes on! My hair was already a hot mess.

You can't tell but it is pouring down rain.

Dinner

IMG_4266

For dinner and drinks we went back to a favorite from last year called Sapresti. We scored our favorite table (the best one in the place) had a wonderful dinner, which included flatbread and yummy drinks. We talked about our plans for the next few days and did a little people watching. I even saw a boob! The people behind us had a baby and well, it was dinner time!

IMG_4267 IMG_4268 IMG_4269

After dinner we went back to the condo to grab my new awesome jacket. It had gotten a little chilly and was perfect leather weather. We went to Le Pub which was down from our condo and had a glass of wine. By this time, I was tired and ready for bed. My Man made fun of me of wanting to go to bed at 9:30pm. Guess who fell asleep first. Ha!

Overall it was a great first day. Even the crazy weather was fine. We got to wear the jackets we bought here last year and I got to wear my new leather one! Nice!

Before

Happy Thursday Reader’s!

It’s a big day today. First, I got my hair colored! Yes! Finally! It looks so much better now. She also blew it out with a hair dryer (why didn’t I think of that?) and it wasn’t so crazy. What do you think?

Corn and Peas

Corn and Peas

The garden is coming along pretty well. I am try not to get to excited about it cause I don’t want it to all go to shit in the heat of July! My corn and pea’s have sprouted and I have  blooms on the cucumber/squash plants. It looks like it will rain while we are out-of-town which is good. If it doesn’t then my mom and dad are going to have to water! I am very serious about my garden this year! I have planted leaks and am working on celery right now too. I got the idea off of Pinterest to take your leak and celery “hearts”, put them in water and once the roots start growing plant them. Then you have leaks and celery all summer! I also want to try to plant asparagus soon. I am running out of room!

Terrance Peterson and Zazzles!

Rock on!

We are going to a rock concert tonight. Guess who will be playing. The Boy!!! Yep The Boy is going to rock the house tonight. He is having such a nice time at Rock Band camp. I talked to one of the counselors, Kevin, today. He was so nice . He remembers what The Boy wore his first year at the concert, what bands he was in, everything! Such a nice group of guys and girls. The Boy likes to get there early so he can hang out with all the older kids on the front porch while people are arriving. He is liking it so much that I am thinking about adding a third week of camp this summer. I will take pictures and post them  here later. He will be playing the guitar and a big drum for one of the songs. Can’t wait!

Have a wonderful weekend Reader’s!

Bonjour!

Reader’s!

How the heck are you? Did you have a good Monday? Mine was good. Today was the first day of Rock Band Camp for The Boy. When we got there they all remembered him (by name) from last summer! How cool is that!. He had a great time. He will playing the guitar this year. I told him to try singing but he didn’t. Although he said maybe he should have. The singer isn’t the best he said. They are learning two songs, Miss You by the Rolling Stones and Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. They will have a concert on Thursday night. I will make sure to take some pictures. I can’t wait! Last year I had to miss his concert because I was the hospital for my first round of chemo. Not this year!

Yum!

Yum!

My juicing is still going strong. On Sunday I bought more cucumbers and celery. I have added broccoli stems to the mix. I also went to Whole Foods today and bought some wheat grass. That stuff is $$$$. I have decided to buy my own seeds and start growing it myself. Wheat grass is super good for you and I want to add it to my daily juicing without going bankrupt! I have given up red meat and haven’t eaten pork since I was 13! I want to cut down my chicken intake to only once or twice a week if that (I think it would make The Girls happy). Fish, turkey and veggies. I plan to eventually cut out chicken totally but will keep eating eggs, cause they are a gift! I will try to only eat my eggs or ones where I know they are organic. The more I read the more and more I realize how important it is to watch what we are putting into our bodies. Our American diet is nothing like it was 50, even 25 years ago and it isn’t getting better. Best to take charge and start taking care of this body of mine!

I would walk 10,000 miles (steps)….

I ended up coming up in 7th at my gym for the 10,000 steps a day challenge. Not too bad!  After a bit of a break where I was hitting 7000 steps a day I have decided to go back to the 10,000 steps per day. It isn’t easy! I sit on my ass a lot! But once again, I need to take care of the body. I am not getting any younger!

Baby E!

This weekend we went to see friends we haven’t seen for a while. There kids are getting so big. Baby K wanted to do everything that The Boy was doing so they had to find her headphones and she borrowed her mom’s iPhone. So cute!

Baby K and Aidan

We had a nice dinner and drank some good wine. The Boy hit a wall around 8:30pm and passed out on the couch. There was drool. I guess the party finally caught up to him. I to got tired and passed out when we got home.

Pretty!

Reader’s, My Man and I will be heading to Quebec City soon. I can’t wait! We went last year for my 40th birthday and we had a nice time. If you take a look at my June 2013 post you will see some pictures from my post about it. We have rented a condo this time in the lower part of Old Quebec City.

Doesn’t it look nice? I have already looked into juice bar but couldn’t find any in walking distance. Hopefully they will have some juice at the grocery store or a market near by. I don’t want to miss four days!

It is time for me to go out and visit the girls and play with Timber. Have a wonderful night!!

Party time!

Good Morning Reader’s!

Sun is out here int the ATL. The weather has been kinda crazy here this past week. It will start out sunny and warm and end wet and muggy. We have been getting a lot of spring showers! It has been great for my garden. I have many green tomatoes popping up and my cucumbers/squash are growing well. Last week I also planted corn, peas and parsnips. They have all sprouted over the past week. I am so excited!

Ouch!

Ouch!

They Boy had a crazy few days. The other day at camp he slammed his finger in the door and then it got stuck. It was very painful for him and is still swollen. It is finally feeling better which is good because he has Rock Camp next week and will need to be able to play the guitar.

That is not nail polish.

That is not nail polish.

Right now in his room there are 6 9-10 year olds. We had a full house last night. The Boy invited 5 of his buddies over to swim and spend the night to celebrate his birthday. They swam three different times, played video games and watched movies. We had Mellow Mushroom pizza and cake.

Everyone has gotten along great and they are all very sweet. We had one issue last night at bedtime. One of the boys was kinda scared/sad and was crying. The Boy came in and told me that his buddy usually listens to wave music to go to bed. I set him up with headphones and my iPad and had him listen to my yoga music. Worked out perfectly. The whole time The Boy was telling him that is was ok and everything would be fine. He then came and thanked me for helping out his friend. So sweet!

Today I need to run some errand and then we are going to spend sometime with friends we haven’t seen for a while. Should be a great day. I hope you have one too!

Needs more salt…

Reader’s!

Chillin' at Dr. Reads

Chillin’ at Dr. Reads

I got some good news today at Dr. Reads office today. My blood tests came back great! My white blood cell count was good, liver and kidneys look great! The only issue was that my sodium level was a bit low (128 whatever that means), lower than it has ever been. Low sodium!?! I love me some salt! Dr. Read is very happy with how things are going which makes me very happy.

Waiting....

Waiting….

The white hair has started to appear. It’s crazy! Good thing I will be going to get my hair colored next week. Don’t think I could stand to much of it. The pain in my side is still there and Dr. Read seems to think it is possible nerve damage from the surgery since it is at its worse in the morning and better when I am up and moving around. All I know is that it hurts and sneezing is a b!tch!

I am off to ProCare today to get my two new legs! Can’t wait to test out the sporty on tomorrow during my workout with SK. Bouncy! Bouncy! Bouncy!

Reader’s, how is your week going?
